Asya Geisberg was born in St.Petersburg, Russia, and has lived in the US since 1977. Asya completed a BA at Wesleyan University with High Honors in 1992, studying literature and history. From 1992-6 she received a Diploma and Fifth-Year Certificate at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
In 1997 Asya moved to New York, receiving an MFA at School of Visual Arts.

In 1998 her solo exhibition at Gregory gallery had an accompanying catalogue essay by Donald Kuspit. Asya has curated, exhibited and organized a fundraising art auction for the Rider Project (2003 - 2006), a mobile art gallery in New York, reviewed in the NY Post, NY Sun, Village Voice, as well as numerous online magazines. Her work has been in many group exhibitions including MoCADA and Bard Center for Curatorial Studies.
